For years, the magnificent travelling showcase known as Barnaby’s Wonder Emporium has dazzled audiences across Britain with breathtaking performances, astonishing curiosities, and performers unlike anything polite society has ever seen. Beneath the glow of the lantern lights, crowds gather night after night to witness the impossible.

But behind the curtains, life amongst the performers is far less magical with rivalries between the acts and whispers of betrayal.

On the eve of the company’s grandest performance yet, tragedy strikes when a leading figure in the show is found murdered amongst the wagons and canvas tents.

With panic spreading through the troupe and suspicion falling on performers, investors and stagehands alike, the truth must be uncovered before the killer vanishes into the crowd.
